Mazel Tov Deli – Pastrami Est

A legenda szerint az első pastrami szendvicset egy litván bevándorló, Sussman Volk, New York-i kóser hentes készítette 1887-ben, aki – állítólag – a receptjét egy román barátjától kapta, hálája jeléül, amiért Volk őrizte a csomagjait, míg ő hazautazott Romániába. A hentes először a recept alapján készített pácolt húst, majd később rozskenyérben, mustárral, ecetes uborkával együtt szendvicsként árulta azt. A siker elsöprő volt, így Volk hamarosan saját éttermet nyithatott.

Hiszünk a legendákban, így a tradicionálisan érlelt és fűszerett húst köménymagos rozskenyér közé tesszük, amish pickle-el (ecetes uborka) és klasszikus sárga mustárral tálaljuk. Míg egyik kezünkben szendvicsek, addig a másikban jobbnál jobb kézműves, izraeli sörök fognak pörögni, továbbá a füstös jazz bárok hangulatát is felidézzük! A Secret Cinema jóvoltából a kertben filmvetítéssel készülünk, míg a zenei aláfestésről Kelemen Angelika Jazz Kvartettje fog gondoskodni. Tartsatok velünk, hamarosan jövünk a részletekkel!

According to the legend the first pastrami sandwich was made by a Lithuanian immigrant, Sussman Volk. The kosher butcher prepared it in 1887, who – allegedly – got the original recipe from his Romanian friend, the sign of his gratitude, because Volk cared his packets, while he traveled home into Romania. The butcher prepared pickled meat based on the prescription first, then later sold it as a sandwich in rye bread together with mustard, an acetic cucumber. It was a great success, and Volk opened their own restaurant soon.

We are believing in the legends, so we serve the iconic sandwich of New York traditionally. We put the meal between cumin seed rye bread, with amish pickle (acetic cucumber) and classic yellow mustard. While in one of our hand will be pastrami sandwich, till then in the other will be great artisan, Israeli beers. We will ensure the mood of the smoky jazz bars of NYC! With the contribution of Secret Cinema, we are preparing a film screening in the garden, and the cover music will be favoir by Kelemen Angelika’s Jazz Quartet. More info soon…
