Is freedom power? Is power freedom?
The questions of power and freedom have been intertwined throughout history. What do these concepts mean today? What is the relationship between power and freedom? When does our liberty have a negative effect on other’s freedom? Can we really consider ourselves free based on the freedom of choice we are presented with? Can we be free when those in power are restricting us not by law but by external pressures?
What kind of powers and freedoms define our lives today? We will be searching for the answers to all these questions with our audience and with invited experts in literature, education, politics, psychology an human rights.

The Freedom to be Religious (or not) in Israel: In this session, through case studies, discussion and learning about the situation, we will touch on issues such as the Jewishness of the Jewish state, the relationship of religion and state in a modern democracy and issues of coercion and respect. Through this you’ll be encouraged to think about what is your personal vision of a Jewish state and how this compares to other such visions.
